Ministry housing is broken. It feels too big to fix. So churches ignore it. Staff suffer quietly. And the ecosystem absorbs the loss.

We exist to glorify God. That requires thriving churches and ministries. That happens through thriving pastors and ministry staff.
Pastors aren’t thriving if their housing is insecure or unaffordable.
The cost of housing is the single greatest strategic threat to ministry. It’s killing recruitment and retention.
Too many pastors are stuck in what we call Egypt—the land of paying full-market rent working at a church with no strategy and no end in sight.
Aslan creates affordable housing Pathways so ministry staff can thrive. Not one-off fixes. Pathways out of Egypt and toward the Promised Land of homeownership wherever possible.
We walk alongside pastors, churches, ministries, and their stakeholders. One strategic step at a time.
We started as a lay team at a Northern California church. Recruitment was faltering. Housing costs were paralyzing. Resources weren’t being used strategically.
So we stepped in—using our own time, treasure, and talent.
Our founding board included a CFO, a wealth manager, a builder, an insurance executive, a real estate agent, and a lawyer. We listened to staff. We built out a housing policy. And we didn’t stop there. We traded large underutilizes houses for smaller units for younger staff. With church resources, we bought a parsonage and put an ADU and a JADU on it. We did stuff smarter.
Aslan was born from the belief that staff deserve strategy, not sympathy. And that lay leaders can be the spark.
We are a super-smart nonprofit with sophisticated legal, financial, and strategic tools. Our posture is pastoral, not extractive.

Aslan is a California nonprofit religious corporation and a tax-exempt public charity. We are governed by a working board of professionals in law, finance, construction, HR, architecture, tech, and operations.

We publish our 990s and hold a Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency. We follow CPA guidance on efficient use of funds, choosing financial reviews and compilations over costly audits that don’t serve our mission.
We steward every gift with care, because our donors are part of the Pathway too.
People either get the reference or they don’t—and we’re okay with that.
